Frontier Hotel, Grahamstown
Post-colonialism - a bricolage of architectures, ideas, and values: the hotel with its crude insertions of cheap modern features into a structure from the 1920's; the Victorian Camera Obscura in its incongruous tower; the 19th century commercial building with its neo-classical pretensions; the newspaper bills aimed at a working class black readership.
