The toposcope recalls the places where the 1820 settler parties were granted land. Plaques record the names of the ships and their ports of departure. Formerly brass, the plaques are now made of fibreglass, the originals having been stolen, it is believed, for sale to passing Chinese trawlermen who fish the coast for squid.
